The Gunburg is not a utopia.
The Gunburg is an idea and to sum it up in a catch phrase “We are like the Amish, but with guns.” Farming is our primary vocation. Farm tools are shared. Some labor is communal. Unlike the Amish we are not pacifists. We live in a fortified cluster of homes. The cluster is called a Gunburg. Each family member male and female that can carry a gun hits the Gunburg’s walls if it is being attacked. Each family has land to farm, with a woodlot. We grow food with minimal power inputs and natural ways.
The gunburg is a gulch.
The families of a gunburg are a freedom-minded social community.
Each gunburg is self-sufficient as a whole, in terms of shelter, water, food and clothing. Some chores are shared. There are minimal rules. Family privacy is paramount in the gunburg. All self-defense duties are shared. Self-defense is only used if aggressed upon by others.
The gunburg trades and barters with other gunburgs (if there ar any) and are also free to trade outside of the gunburg group. They have a trust based local trade network. The families have individual and property rights and earn and keep their own wealth.
