I carry a gun because a cop is too heavy.
I worked the gun show today for my hunting club. I work with the president of our club. He said he was talking to the buyer of Sportsmen Warehouse and he said that the ammunition manufacturers had already made 90 percent of the ammunition they were scheduled to make for the year. He said they said they were mainly making ammo for their law enforcement and military contracts so expect the ammo shortage to get worse.
The ammo seller that is usually at our gun shows sold out of ammo last weekend at the other big city in our state. So they canceled coming to ours. So our gun show attendance was smaller than it normally would have been. Since Jan we have sold 1000 tickets for our gun raffle. At the next gun show we will be starting a second gun raffle for the rest of the year.
Someone today said that Cabela’s had ammo. The reason he said was that Cabela’s paid the ammo suppliers in 10 days instead of 30 days like other ammo buyers, so I guess they get priority. I noticed when I was in Maine in March that the Cabela’s there was well stocked with ammo.
Stuff I bought today. 200 rounds of .22 ammo, a bayonet for my Russian SKS, a compass pouch, some antique non powered hair trimmers(Not scissors). I bought a metal canteen cup from Korea. It looks like the US ones and the ahole who sold it to me said it would fit US canteens. It does not.
There was also a lot of talk about politics. I met one of state’s gun lobbyist and he said that there were several bill’s going through the federal legislative process right now but he did not think any of them would pass. Even though Nancy Pelozi said that by November every gun would be registered. He was worried the president would sign an executive order to stop the flow of imported ammo. He thought that the foreign lobbyists were hard at work to prevent that.
Buy guns, store food and ammo.
