Year 2007 Peak Oil Preparations (Geared Up!)

  •  Paid down bills
  • Bought a AR-15 A2
  • Bought a L1A1 Sporter rifle .308
  • Bought 9 more magazines for the L1A1
  • Bought a 870 Wingmaster 12 gauge shotgun with pistol grip
  • Bought a 870 Wingmaster 12 gauge shotgun mainly for hunting- (on my first coyote hunting trip with it, I left the gun lock on it and forgot the key at home. I had to use my rifle the whole day)
  • My gun safe is overflowing now so I bought gunlocks for all the guns not in the safe.
  • Bought ammo for AR-15, L1A1, AK-47 and 12 gauges.
  • Upgraded AK-47 Furniture from wood to black plastic
  • Bought more body armor
  • Bought upgrade for PASGT Helmet
  • Hunted coyotes (Haven’t shot any yet but I enjoy the hunt, plan on skinning and tanning hides)
  • Bought a 1997 Jeep Cherokee mainly for hunting but for a Bug Out Vehicle (BOV) in case the SHTF
  • Started Krav Maga (Israeli self defense) class (Oct – Dec)
  • Started walking (Since June)
  • Started working out push-ups, chin ups and dips (Since July)
  • Filled 4 five gallon barrels, 2 with rice, 2 with beans
  • Bought mason jars
  • Bought a new Coleman dual fuel camp stove
  • Bought four 55 gallon water barrels and put them in garage and filled with water (220 gallons) (Can’t bug out with these. They are for when the water goes out.)
  • Cleaned up garage and semi-organized an area for the Bug Out stuff (Mainly camping gear)
  • Started Building Bug Out Bags (BOBs)
  • Bought surgeon’s kit for Bug Out Bag
  • Read Books: 1. Pasture Farming by Gene Logsdon
  • 2. Patriots by James Wesley Rawles
  • 3. Little Town on the Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder
  • 4. Those Happy Golden Years by Laura Ingalls Wilder
  • 5. US Army Ranger Handbook SH 21-76
  • Read countless web articles on peak oil, survival and post SHTF fiction
  • Read www.survivalblog.com daily

 

Plans for 2008

  • Change Jobs and move to Texas
  • Buy a farm in the country (Then we won’t have to Bug Out)
  • Buy more dried food for storage
  • Buy non-genetically modified organisms (non-GMOs) fruit and vegetable seeds
