Year 2008 Peak Oil Preparations

Paid down bills

Bought a Russian SKS ($150) what a sweet shooting gun, but it only holds 11 rounds

Took oldest son shooting. He’s a good shot with the .22, He practices at home with BB gun

Continued and stopped Krav Maga (Israeli self defense) class, broke my foot in March, strained sciatica nerve in June (still healing). This is the best martial art, take it if you can

Continued walking, Swam laps in pool for a couple of months

Went to state trappers association convention watched fox skinning demo and took trapper education course (received certificate) – learned cool stuff about setting traps and preparing pelts for sale; Bought a cage trap and some older leg hold traps

Built a gambrel arm for my Jeep’s hitch receiver

Took Rain water harvesting class at botanical gardens

Bought two 55 gallon drums for rainwater harvesting (still need some gutters)

Bought a worm farm kit my youngest son and I are going to grow some worms

Filled 3 five-gallon barrels, 1 with rice, 2 with beans

Bought Antiques

            1.Cast Iron Skillet (Used on camping trip)

            2. Small Scythe

            3. Saw Vice

            4. Meat Grinder

            5. Brush Hook

            6. Pike/shovel folding tool

Bought non-genetically modified organisms (non-GMOs) herb and vegetable seeds

Went camping three times

Took boys fishing three times. They both caught fish. Taught my youngest son to catch crawdads

Watched Survivorman and Man vs. Wild on T.V.. Bought Survivorman season 2

Buy more dried food for storage

Buy a Big Berky water filter

Buy a grain mill

Plant an orchard, grow a garden, and raise some sheep and chickens
